Unfortunately, the food experience fell short, resembling more of a hasty attempt at fine dining without the execution to match. A striking example was the mains, where the duck was tough, suggesting it had been cooked and reheated, while my dish's 'truffle sauce' overpowered rather than complemented the meal. On top of that, the lack of consistent cell reception and absent Wi-Fi created a frustrating disconnect, especially for late arrivals trying to find alternatives. During our meal, service efficiency lagged—drinks took longer than expected, which made it less enjoyable. All this made for a stay that, while beautifully situated, didn’t quite live up to the desired premium experience.

The grilled meats were highlights, each bite offering a taste of local Cotswold charm. The pub's games room was a delightful touch, providing rounds of shuffleboard fun. the character of the building was truly enchanting as you wandered through its history.
The dining experience fell flat with a limited menu that seemed overpriced for what we got. our so-called superior room lacked the promised bath and proper shower facilities, making the stay feel a bit cheeky for the price.

Had an amazing time with my friends! We explored the Witney Lakes Golf Course and walked through beautiful paths around the area. The personal service was top-notch, and we enjoyed the character of the place. Definitely try the meals. they were excellent and well worth it!
One of our friends' room had a leak issue which caused a damp smell. They reported it, and the staff were apologetic, but it did put a hiccup in our stay.

We enjoyed our stay in the cozy Classic Double Room, especially the warm fireplace and the beautiful garden. It's a lovely spot to relax, with great options for a barbecue or a peaceful stroll along the river. The heating in our room could've been better, but it didn't take away from our overall experience. 😊

Charming stay with a cozy atmosphere
I recently enjoyed a wonderful night at this Cotswold gem. The room was comfortable and featured charming historic details that added to the ambiance. We especially loved spending time in the games room, enjoying shuffleboard and other fun activities. The staff were attentive and friendly, making our experience feel personal and welcoming. the dining menu felt somewhat limited. a more diverse selection would enhance the meal experience.
